When I was 12
When I was 12 I had a lot going on between baseball, soccer, and outside of school. I had family members wishing me well, and I had family members doing horrible themselves and not caring if I succeeded or not. This proved challenging to successfully pull through such a predicament. I had to get focused or I knew I would end up like the other 90%.
IN the meanwhile, my mom has been a diabetic ever since she was 9 years old. It has been extremely hard for me to even go to school sometimes because I would be scared she would go into a seizure. Sometimes, I would wake up in the middle of the night to her in a deep seizure, and this would bother me. I felt like she should be the one taking care of her health. It did feel great knowing that I have saved my moms life numerous times. However, for a 12 year old it was somewhat of a struggle.
I had to stay focused on improving my life, so I set on on my own personal development adventure. I started reading a book a week, and I spent some time trying the art of speed-reading. I decided that I was going to be rich someday. So, I started reading books on how to start my own business, and become successful. I read numerous books in the areas of self-help, personal development, and much more. I basically became a self-help geek.
The main thing that helped me the most was seeing others succeed and setting my own goals. This was the best way that kept me focused and motivated me to keep pushing forward. To increase my chance of accomplishing my goals, I would write them out daily. I started carrying around a journal for me to jot my progress towards each goals achievement. Some of my goals I knew were way out of my reach. I.e the goal to earn a $1000 in a month. I had no idea how I would achieve this goal, but it did push me into a new level of life. It showed me how much more effort is needed and how much I am capable of. I may not have earned $1000 but I sure did earn $100.
